National Licenses
In order to increase the availability of specialist electronic information at German universities, research institutes, and academic libraries, the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft) has financed the purchase of national licenses since 2004. The goal is to provide researchers, students, and private users with free access to databases, digital collections, and electronic journals. You may access these materials via the network of your university, research institute, or scientific library.
The purchase of digital collections and specialist databases allows researchers in the humanities and social sciences access to important research resources in digital form.
