• Post-doctoral thesis on the relations between the Soviet occupation zone/GDR and Czechoslovakia (1945-1969) (Düsseldorf 2005)
• Assistant Professor (Privatdozent) for modern and contemporary history as well as Eastern European history of the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf (2007-2014)
